Melissa Shelton, LCSW, LCAS-A
I graduated from WCU in 2020, amidst the pandemic, and have throughout my career watched individuals transition into and out of the “pandemic state”. Over the past 3 years, I have primarily supported children and adolescents and their caregivers through these difficult times. The pandemic unlocked so much fear, anxiety, depression, and overall just changes that we didn’t know were within us as human beings. Sometimes, rediscovering ourselves is challenging - whether that’s because of the pandemic, death/loss, fertility challenges, starting a new career, losing a job, starting school, changing schools, adoption, divorce, etc. The way any of these things affect one person can be different, traumatic even, and I just hope to help others through these times, just as I have been helped through hard times myself.

I love watching people grow. I love seeing the light on their face when they find their strengths and recognize what truly loving oneself looks like! I love watching them find their place in this giant world we live in.
I’m so glad you’re here because that means you’re doing something important for yourself! Let’s work together to reduce your stress, manage impact of trauma, and HEAL! Let’s rediscover YOU!!
